ABOUT BURNT TREE
Getting to know Burnt Tree
We're Burnt Tree, an independent, family-run creative agency based in the New Forest, Hampshire, specialising in film and photography.
We started Burnt Tree because we believed there was a better way to approach film production. We wanted to combine creative ideas, high-quality work and fair pricing, while giving clients a more personal experience.
We also wanted to use our skills to support organisations doing something positive, from helping charities raise funds to bringing attention to important issues and making research more accessible.
Thoughtful ideas. Carefully made.
As a family-run agency, we care about building genuine relationships with the people we work with. We're personally involved in every project, from the first conversation through to final delivery, so our clients always know who they're working with. Alongside us is a trusted network of filmmakers, photographers, editors and other creatives who share our approach.
Our experience working with charities and ethical organisations has taught us the importance of treating people and their stories with care. We take time to get to know our clients and contributors, creating a friendly, relaxed environment where everyone feels comfortable. We know being in front of a camera can be daunting, particularly when sharing personal experiences, so we make sure people feel listened to, supported and respected throughout.
OUR APPROACH
OUR STORY
Why we started Burnt Tree
Before founding Burnt Tree together, Harrison worked as an in-house filmmaker for a major charity, while Laura worked in research within universities. Our experience gave us an understanding of the pressures on budgets and the importance of getting value for money. Harrison had also seen first-hand how organisations sometimes paid high prices for creative work that fell short of expectations.
We wanted to build an agency that combined strong creative ideas and high-quality production with fair pricing and a straightforward approach. One where clients worked directly with the people creating their films and felt involved throughout the process.
Small team. Big ideas.
Our projects range from national fundraising campaigns and awareness films to education, research and personal stories. We enjoy finding creative ways to communicate important messages, particularly when the subject is complex or sensitive.
We believe good creative work should do more than look good. It should serve a clear purpose and give organisations something genuinely useful.
